I love to travel. Exploring new lands and big cities is one of my favourite things. As soon as I am in the aeroplane my mind starts to veer towards the range of foods I'm about to experience. Here are my tips for the travelling foodie:
When travelling on a plane or a train always take along a wedge of lime and a fresh chilli to breathe life into otherwise bland food.
Don't pin yourself down to where you are going to eat. Be spontaneous and follow your nose, it's always more rewarding.
I always head towards the main food market. This helps you to see what is in season and if there are any specialty ingredients you should be looking for. If the weather's great why not have a picnic?
In my experience there is always a fantastic bar or restaurant in or very close to the market. Make it your mission to find that place!
